Job Description

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for hematology work in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves receiving and processing clinical specimens, maintaining lab equipment, and performing data entry in a fast-paced environment. Tuesday–Saturday shifts from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical lab specimens for testing
• Scan and enter specimen and patient information into systems
• Monitor lab equipment functionality and perform minor maintenance
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and maintain test bench supplies
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and complete administrative documentation

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfort handling biological specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• High attention to detail with multitasking capability
• Pass standardized color blindness test
• 3+ months specimen processing or laboratory experience (preferred)
